Memorial Wreath Toss Ceremony

Honoring Second Lieutenant Michael J. Biakis

Provincetown Harbor

The SAILING FOR VETERANS maritime memorial wreath toss ceremony signifies our ongoing commitment to honor and remember the sacrifices made by generations of fallen heroes and to honor all who served our great nation. In recognition of the ultimate sacrifice made by Second Lieutenant Michael J. Biakis, we will host this maritime wreath toss tribute in Provincetown Harbor with the formal dedication of a plaque in his honor to be permanently displayed in the cabin of “Veterans Service Vessel” VSV-2 INDRA in the historic seaport of Gloucester Massachusetts. A presentation will be created for guests in the memory of Michael J. Biakis who went missing 80 years ago when his B-24 bomber was lost on a training mission over the North Sea on January 19, 1945.
